Rocky Sink

Last week, my son and I were in a restaurant in Providence and it had the coolest sink surround in the ladies room.

It was several inches of ivory colored stones suspended in a clear, hard material.

It almost looked like the stones were floating in water.

I think one of the most interesting features was that the tops of the stones had been cut or sanded flat and smooth at the point where they broke through the surface. It gave the whole counter depth and dimension.

I think this was a clever use of natural materials in an unusual way.
