My Crafty Abode Series – Snow Spirals

Ok, so there is no trace of snow on the ground and the sun is shining bright right now... I still love our front door mat in the winter.

I took this picture when it was packed tight with snow and thought the pattern was so pretty…definitely inspiring for jewelry design!

In addition to being really pleasing to my eye, it is also made of a sturdy, utilitarian, thick, rubber …perfect for extreme north east weather.

I think the symmetry and scale of the pattern is bold and delicate at the same time…a nice balance for any type of art.

It welcomes me.
