Most homes in Arizona have all kinds of odd cut-outs for display. The problem can be if they are two narrow to really display anything...and sometimes my clients wanted something a little more interesting than a framed picture.
For this alcove I painted trompe l'oeil shelves filled with Majolica decorative items as my client has a Majolica collection. It was fun to research Majolica and to incorporate their designs into my small mural.
