A Small Touch

An old piece of lace can really change the look of a plain cotton camisole.

This was an applique I had been holding on to for a while...I really love the patterns and texture but I wasn't sure what I wanted to do with it.

I ended up using some variegated metallic thread to roughly hand stitch it to a brown cotton tank top of mine.

It is so delicate and I love how it looks peeking out of an open sweater or blouse.
I also like that the lace (being old) is a small link to the past.

That's pretty. You're right. It truly elevates something plain to make it into a special garment.

Thank you for stopping by my blog and for your kind comments about my pears.

Tomorrow morning I'm drawing out the winning name for my fabric giveaway!

Hope to see you stopping by again!

I too love old lace and the fact that it is so delicate. Using metallic thread to sew it to your top is just the right touch to bring it current yet retain it's vintage quality. Happy creating...
